Five key stats from Barcelona 1-0 Celta Vigo

Barcelona clinched a hard-earned 1-0 victory over Celta Vigo last night to climb back to the top of the La Liga standings.

Pedri gave Barcelona the lead early in the first half, with the Spanish prodigy firing home from close range after some good work from fellow teenage sensation Gavi.

The goal meant that Pedri has now scored eight goals in La Liga while having made only 16 shots on target. In fact, the 19-year-old has found the back of the net with each of his last four attempts on target.

The Catalans were made to work hard for the victory by the Galician outfit, who pushed and probed for an equaliser, especially in the latter stages of the game. But Marc-Andre ter Stegen stood like a wall in the goal, making some crucial saves to keep the visitors at bay.

Such has been his form of late that, Ter Stegen has saved 19 of his 20 shots on target faced in La Liga this season. His 95% save percentage is the best in the competition this term and the best in the Top Five European Leagues among goalkeepers with 5+ saves.

In the process, Ter Stegen kept a sixth consecutive clean sheet in La Liga – the first time ever he has done that in his career.

The victory also meant that Barcelona captain Sergio Busquets recorded his 334th win in La Liga – only Lionel Messi has more wins in the competition (384).

On Sunday, Barcelona were once again denied a penalty by the match referee after Raphinha was brought down by Javi Galan in the first half.

It meant that the Blaugrana have not been awarded a penalty in any of their last 19 La Liga matches. During that same period, Real Madrid have been given nine spot-kicks.

The Catalans will lock horns with the current La Liga champions in the first El Clasico of the season this coming weekend.
